Granulation Tissue
The presence of the classic shiny, beefy, red granulation tissue denotes healing progress and is a healthy sign. Warning signs to look for in the granulating wound bed is a darker red/purple colour or grey colour, indicating an inadequate blood supply.
Refer to stalled wounds section if granulation tissue fails to progress.
